We’re pleased to offer the following services at Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital:

    Exams and Consultations

Routine yearly check ups are just as important to pets as they are to us.  Pets age an average of 7 times faster than humans.   A routine  annual exam can detect early signs of abnormalities, thus allowing adequate treatment before it becomes serious or life threatening.    Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Please see our clinic hours page to view our hours of operation.   You can also email your request at careteam@kleinburgveterinaryhospital.com.

Vaccines help to build immunity or protection against some of the most common infectious agents that affects your pet.   Puppies and kittens are initially vaccinated with “core” vaccines at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age.    Annual booster vaccines for adults include “Core” vaccines and “None- Core” vaccines.   “None Core” vaccines for dogs include Bordatella (kennel cough) ; Leptospirosis and Lymes vaccines.  In cats,  Feline Leukemia vaccine is recommended for outdoor cats.    Discuss with your vet which vaccines are right for your pet.

Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital  is pleased to offer routine or elective surgeries  which includes spays and neuters, as well as none routine soft tissue surgeries.

We recommend that you spay or neuter your pet at around 6 months of age to prevent certain medical conditions as well as to prevent unwanted behaviours. Although these surgical procedures are common at Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital we do understand that this is a huge event in the life of your pet and understand your concerns and fears.

All surgeries are performed in our sterile surgical suite and monitored from sedation to recovery by our highly trained technicians.    Ask one of our staff members for a tour of our surgical facilities.

    Dental Procedures

A recent survey shows that 3 out of 5 pets have some level of dental disease.   Dental disease can lead to potential life threatening  problems of the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys.  Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital is dedicated towards educating, treating and preventing all levels of dental disease and potential problems.  Our assessment also include digital dental X-rays, which help detect underlying root and bone involvement.    A complete oral exam is performed during all our routine check ups.   Please call us if you have any concerns including “bad breath”  or “bleeding gums”.  A Healthy Mouth = Healthy Body.

Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital offers in-house and external blood, urine and stool testing.  Annual stool testing for parasites is required to ensure your pet and family are safe.   Pets over 7 years old should have annual blood and urine testing to detect any early signs of disease, thus increasing longevity and quality of life.   X-rays are available with results given on the same day.  Pets requiring none urgent ultrasonography are booked with our traveling board certified internist and ultrasonographer.

    Nutritional Consultation

It can be overwhelming of the hundreds of different pet diets and advice out there.  A balanced nutrition is essential in maintaining a long and healthy life.   Nutritional requirements vary according to the “Life Stage” and any underlying medical conditions.   Ask our staff about any dietary concerns and recommendations.

    Professional Grooming

Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital is pleased to welcome Ginger Hodginson, our professional groomer.   Ginger has over 20 years experience as a groomer and educator in the grooming industry.    She grooms all breeds of dogs and cats and is dedicated to providing the best care and attention to detail.    Ginger is available for any grooming concerns or questions on Tuesdays and alternating Thursdays and Fridays.

     Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. An emergency team usually consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet’s life. Emergencies can be things such as toxin ingestion, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in to the clinic immediately. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to “squeeze” you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Kleinburg Veterinary Hospital also provides an emergency contact to our veterinary team 24/7.    Whether you have a question or need advise, we are there to help.  If your pet requires emergency assistance, we will contact and direct you to the nearest emergency hospital for easy transfer and admittance.   Our doctors will discuss present or prior medical conditions, diagnostics and medications with emergency personnel, enabling them to better manage any life threaten conditions quickly and effectively.
